Ordering the right pressing product is easier when we speak the same language.

Many Lab Test Products items are named using a simple formula that helps us identify the correct machine fit and product variant:

Manufacturer – Model – Orientation – Trim – Item

Some parts of the name describe the machine, such as the manufacturer, model, and orientation. Other parts describe the product itself, such as the trim and item type.

When calling to order, try to have as much of this information ready as possible. If you are not sure, that is okay — photos of your machine, machine tag, and the part you need replaced can help us identify the correct item.

The manufacturer is the company that made your pressing machine, laundry press, utility press, or finishing equipment.

Example: Unipress

Other common manufacturers may include brands such as Hoffman, Forenta, Ajax, Itsumi, Sankosha, and others.

The model is the machine model, series number, or identifying number used by the equipment manufacturer.

This is often found on the machine tag, nameplate, manual, or old invoice.

Example: 42

Orientation indicates whether the machine is right- or left-handed.

Some manufacturers use specific orientation codes. For example, on many Unipress machines:

RX = right-handed LX = left-handed

Orientation can be important for products that are shaped or cut to fit a specific side of the machine, such as insulating covers or certain accessories.

Trim refers to the specific product variant or construction style the customer needs.

This information does not usually come from the machine itself. Instead, it helps identify which version of a Lab Test Products item you are ordering.

For example, if you are ordering a grid plate, the trim helps us know whether you need a 490+, Lab Safe, or R.G. grid plate.

If you are ordering a press pad, the trim helps us know whether you need a Slick, Clean, Excel, or Unique press pad.

If you are ordering an insulating cover, the trim helps us know whether you need a cover for a Hot Head or Dry Cleaning machine.

If you are unsure which trim you need, we can help identify the right option from your machine information, photos, or previous order history.

 The item is the actual Lab Test Products product you need.

Examples include:

Press Pad, Grid Plate, Insulating Head or Buck Cover, Machine or Iron Hose Cover, Iron Parker, Puffer Cover

 If you need an insulating head cover for a right-handed Unipress 42 dry cleaning machine, you would ask for:

Unipress 42 RX Dry Cleaning Insulating Head Cover

That breaks down as:

Manufacturer: Unipress 

Model: 42 Orientation:RX 

Trim: Dry Cleaning 

Item: Insulating Head Cover

For the fastest service, please have the following information ready when possible:

Machine manufacturer, Machine model number,, Right-handed or left-handed orientation, Dry cleaning, laundry, or other trim/application, The item you need replaced, Photos of the machine and part, if available.

Photos are especially helpful when the machine tag is worn, the model is unclear, or the item has been modified over time.
